one and a half day Scientific Input Engagement (SIE) on the Role of Stromal Cells and Extracellular Matrix in the Tumor Microenvironment.
A Scientific Input Engagement is a meeting organized by Merck Research Laboratories, with the primary focus of this meeting to discuss with the global experts in this field the latest science on the role of the stromal cells and the extracellular matrix in the Tumor Micro Environment. While the agenda is in development, we plan to investigate:
• The role of tumor stroma
• What has been learned from pancreatic cancer
• The intersection with fibrotic disease and wound healing
• Regulation of the immune system, the vasculature and angiogenesis
• Interaction between the stroma and immune cells
• New technologies and approaches to study and model the TME
