Personal profile

Research interests

One of the greatest risk factors for developing a depression, is having a parent with a mood disorder. More than 50% of children with parents that suffer from a mood disorder, develop depressive problems themselves. In the MARIO project, we aim at reducing this percentage. Targeting a high-risk group of children with parents with a mood disorder, the project has three aims:

1) Study of risk and protective factors for the development of a depression

2) Development of an instrument to identify children that at risk for depressive problems

3) Evaluation of an intervention to prevent depressive problems
