Abstract

The extensor retinaculum is a reinforcement of the anterior crural fascia. Usually includes the superior extensor retinaculum and inferior extensor retinaculum which are both in continuity with the anterior fascia of the leg. Herein, there will be presented details of anatomy and clinical implications of these structures in the topic of lateral ankle instability.
