Abstract
Individualizing the risks of cardiovascular disease and the expected effects of preventive medication can contribute to better shared decisions between patients and doctors. Calculated risks, however, do not always align with the patient's own experience or intuition. Maybe it's time for even more individualization by taking patients' personal experience as the starting point for treatment choices?
